Our Story
In 2017, Elena was running a small bookkeeping practice. She was good at the work. Getting clients was a different story. Long stretches with no new business. The occasional lead that went nowhere. It was discouraging because the problem was never the service itself.
In 2019 her husband Iliya came into the business. Elena knew the accounting. Iliya knew marketing and tech. Together they stopped guessing and started building a real system. Defined the services clearly. Figured out what local business owners actually respond to. Built marketing that brought clients in instead of chasing them.
The practice went from a handful of clients to over a hundred within a year.
They sold it for 2x yearly revenue.
That could have been the end of it. But the same frustration Elena started with kept showing up in every accounting community, every forum, every conversation. Talented people who could do the work but had no way to get clients. Finishing courses, getting certified, then sitting there with an empty calendar.
The system that grew their practice was the real asset. So they built a team around it and started doing it for others. That became BookedKeeper.
Our Mission
Nobody should be stuck working for someone else just because they are having a hard time finding clients. If you can do the work, you should be able to build a business doing it.
There are millions of small business owners who need help with their books and their taxes. The demand for what you do is real and it's not going anywhere. The problem is just that most accountants and bookkeepers don't know how to get in front of those people.
It shouldn't take years of trial and error just to figure out how to find clients for your practice. That's the problem we exist to solve.
